REDataVault is an online application that enables customers to identify, select, purchase and license property and listing information. The site is owned and operated by Real Estate Digital, a spin-off from lender Processing Services which provides technology services to more than 500 multiple listing services, 350 brokerages, nearly 60 settlement services companies and more than 300,000 agents nationwide. RED provides MLS management systems, Broker websites, Agent websites, Customized property reports and other products to the Real Estate Industry.
One of the large challenges with listing information is how and when is can be shared or leveraged for us in producing a derivative product like Average Listing Price in zip code 90210, etc. The listing information comes from different Multiple Listing Services each with their own regional restrictions and rules of governance. REDataVault, provided a granular way for the listing owner to grant the authority to use all or part of their listing information. The identified listings were then made available for information consumers to select and license for use and subscribe to a daily, weekly or monthly feed of the data in a variety of formats.
So what was it really? A browser based, service oriented customizeable information licensing and export system. With features like Sign me up, Customized Landing pages, Export management and a co-branded user experience large companies that need access to standardized listing data (there are a lot of them) were lining up to license the data.
Our team was there from the first kick off meeting and worked through many long design sessions and days of development using Visual Studio, c#, ASP.NET, Javascript, Ajax, WCF, SQL Server to deliver a great customer solution.
